Required Tools

Sensor Activation Magnet

NOTE: ORO-TEK GEN II Sensors do not require Sensor Activation Magnet to Activate.  A Properly Formatted Scan tool is required.

or

Properly formatted scan tool or trigger tool can be used.
 
 
Preparation
1.   Review all data in your owner's manual pertaining to the TPMS System
2.   Verify vehicle application is covered by Trigger Tool
3.   Update Trigger Tool Software
4.   Verify that the Trigger Tool is working properly (replace battery if necessary)
  
Installation
 

NOTE: This Step should be performed only by a technician who has been properly trained in the operation and installation of TPMS Systems.

    • Install Sensors - Properly Install tire pressure sensors.
    • Tire Pressure - Confirm all tires are inflated to the pressure indicated on the tire pressure placard.(Placard is located on the driver's side door jamb of vehicle)


      This is a sample Tire Pressure Placard.  Not for this specific vehicle.

    • Eliminate Interference - To ensure the control unit memorizes the correct sensor ID's, the vehicle with    a new sensor must be at least 3m (10 ft.) from any other TPMS pressure sensor not installed on that vehicle.
Relearn
  1. Turn ignition to ON position, engine off.

  2. Press and release MENU button until the message "RETAIN TIRE SENSORS" is displayed.

  3. Press the STEP button to select YES to retain TPM sensor.

  4. Press the MENU button to enter selection.

  5. Display will read "TRAIN LEFT FRONT TIRE".

  6. Starting at left front (drivers side front) tire place the sensor activation magnet over the stem until the horn sounds (this should take approximately 5 seconds).  If installing ORO-TEK GEN II Sensors, activate the TPM Sensor by placing trigger tool or scan tool against sidewall of tire close to rim at valve stem location, then press and release "TEST" button.



    There is a 60 second timer for training the first tire and 30 second timer between training the remaining tires.  If either of these timers expire, the EVIC will abort the training procedure.  Turn ignition to the OFF position and start again at step 1.

  7. Repeat step 7 for the remaining three tires/sensors, in the following clockwise order:
                Right Front (passenger side front)
                Right Rear (passenger side rear)
                Left Rear (drivers side rear)


    If the spare tire has a TPM Sensor, place the sensor activation magnet over the stem until the horn sounds (this should take approximately 5 seconds).  If installing ORO-TEK GEN II Sensors, activate the TPM Sensor by placing trigger tool or scan tool against sidewall of tire close to rim at valve stem location, then press and release "TEST" button.

  8. If the display reads TRAINING COMPLETE, pressing either the STEP. C/T, RESET, or MENU buttons will exit the training mode. 

  9. If the display reads TRAINING ABORTED, move the vehicle ahead at least 1 foot and complete steps 1-8 again.
