1.   Review all data in your owner’s manual pertaining to your TPMS system.

- DO the following steps if using the optional trigger tool method -

2.   Verify that your vehicle is listed in the application coverage listing of the trigger tool. 

3.   Perform trigger tool software update.

4.   Verify that the OEM trigger tool is working (check battery if needed). 


Note: This step should be performed only by a tire technician who has been properly trained in the operation and installation of TPMS systems.

1.   Install Sensors - Properly install tire pressure sensors. 

2.   Tire Pressure - Confirm all tires are inflated to the pressure indicated on tire placard. (the tire placard is located on the door jam of your vehicle)

Not for this specific vehicle.

3.   Eliminate Interference - To ensure the control unit memorizes the correct sensor ID, the vehicle with the new sensor must be at least 3 m. (10 ft.) from any other TPMS pressure sensor not installed on that vehicle.


1.   Set the parking brake.

2.   Turn the ignition switch to RUN with the engine off

3.   Using the DIC, press the vehicle information button until the TIRE LOCATIONS PRESS  TO LEARN message displays.

4.      Press the set/reset button to allow the system to learn the tire positions. The horn will sound twice to indicate the receiver is ready, and the TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE message displays. The TPMS system is ready for the sensor matching process to begin.

5.   Start with the driver side front tire.

6.   Activate the TPMS sensor by increasing or decreasing the tire’s air pressure for five seconds, or until a horn chirp sounds. The horn chirp which may take up to 30 seconds to sound, confirms that the sensor identification code has been matched to this tire and wheel position.

In step 6 a TPM trigger tool may be used in place of increasing/decreasing tire pressures to enable sensor. To use, place trigger tool against tire sidewall close to the rim at the valve stem location, then press and release the activate button.


If Oro-Tek universal sensors are installed (OTI-001). Due to the multi protocol function of these sensors, releasing air pressure from the tires will not trigger the sensor to transmit its ESN (Electronic Serial Number) to the ECU (Electronic Control Unit). You will need an electronic trigger tool to facilitate transmission of ESN to the ECU.

7.   Repeat the procedure used in step 6 for each of the three remaining tires in this clockwise order:

a.    Right Front (Passenger Front)

b.    Right Rear (Passenger Rear)

c.    Left Rear (Driver Rear)

8.   After hearing the confirming horn chirp for the driver side rear tire, the tire learning process ends. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.

If you reduced the air pressure to learn the sensors then, set all four tires to the recommended air pressure level as indicated on the Tire and Loading Information label.

9.   Set all four tires to the recommended air pressure indicated on tire placard. (located in the door jam of your vehicle)
