TPMS Reset Procedure

Required Tools
None

Preparation
Review all data in your Owner’s Manual pertaining to the TPMS System

Installation

NOTE: This step should be performed only by a tire technician who has been properly trained in the operation and installation of TPMS Systems.
  1. Install Sensors – Properly install tire pressure sensors.
  2. Tire Pressure – Confirm all tire are inflated to the pressure indicated on tire placard.  (Placard is located on the driver’s side door jamb of vehicle)

  1. Eliminate Interference – To ensure the control unit memorizes the correct sensor ID, the vehicle with a new sensor must be at least 3m (10 ft.) from any other TPMS pressure sensor not installed on that vehicle.



Relearn 

If equipped with iDrive:

1. Ensure all tires are inflated to the pressure listed on the tire placard.

2. Turn ignition to ON position (engine off).

3. Press iDrive controller to use “i” menu.

4. Select “settings”, press iDrive controller.

5. Select “Car/Tires”, press iDrive controller.

6. You may need to switch to the top field, select “Tires: RDC”, and press iDrive controller.

7. Start Engine.

8. Select “Confirm Tire Pressure”, press iDrive controller.

9. Vehicle must be driven to complete relearn.
 

If not equipped with iDrive:

1. Ensure all tires are inflated to the pressure listed on the tire placard.

2. Start engine.

3. Hold turn signal lever in the up or down position until TPMS indicator and “reset” are displayed.

4. Press button at end of turn signal lever.

5. Press and hold button at end of turn signal lever until a check appears after “reset”.

6. Vehicle must be driven to complete relearn.
